The Quarterly Edition of the Labour Market Bulletin is a look back over the past three months, providing an analysis of quarterly Labour Force Survey results for the province of New Brunswick, including the regions of Campbellton—Miramichi, Edmundston—Woodstock, Fredericton—Oromocto, Moncton—Richibucto and Saint John—St. Stephen.

The labour market in New Brunswick experienced some improvement during the third quarter of 2013, compared to the second quarter of the year. The population remained relatively stable, but the labour force increased in the third quarter.

There was a significant increase in employment in the third quarter, compared to the second quarter of 2013.

Year over year, however, there was a slight decline in quarterly employment. Although there have been some fluctuations over the last few years, slightly more than 9,000 jobs have been lost since the third quarter of 2009 when employment was at its highest recorded level. The year-over-year employment losses took place in full-time jobs, while part-time employment actually increased, compared to the same quarter in 2012.Employment Stats 2013
